Overview of the Product
The Pocket Salewiz is a pocket pc based business software.
It provides database functions to manage your inventory,
customers database, vendors database and purchase/sell
transactions and inventory stock adjustment transaction. It is
running on Microsoft Pocket PC operating system and provides a
mobile way for your business management.
The Main Pocket Salewiz features includes:
Inventory Control: the program provides a group of
functions that track the activities of inventory assets
account. It provides functions of creating a product item,
automatically post a transaction in the event of the inventory
purchase, sell and stock quantity changed. It provides
inventory asset account register that you can review all the
transactions and inventory values changing history.
Purchase Products: the Pocket Salewiz provides a
convenient user interface to record product purchase
transactions. It will automatically update your latest
purchase price for a product so you can always have the latest
purchase price updated. The purchase transaction will update
your inventory stock quantity and the program will calculate
the average cost based on the previous stock quantity, current
average price and current purchase quantity and purchase
price.
Sell Products: the program provides a friendly user
interface to compose a sell transaction. Just click to select
products and quantities, it will calculate the total dollar
amount for you and even including sale tax calculation. The
sale tax is defined in the individual product level and Pocket
Salewiz will add the applied sale tax to the amount total that
you will charge the customer. The product sale transaction
will update your inventory stock quantity. The sale price can
be changed at selling time so you have flexibility for set a
selling price for each transaction.
Easy of Transaction Modification: you can edit your
transactions later anytime, the program will refresh the
database for all necceary changes for the modification you
make for the earlier transactions.
Customer Database: the program maintains a customer
database.
Vendor Database: the program maintains a vendor
database. The product database can use vendor name as a prefer
vendor for the product. When you purchase product, it will
automatically select the prefer vendor as default setting. You
can modify it.
Sale Tax List: the program maintains a sale tax list. A
sale tax can be applied to a single product for the applied
sale tax. The sale tax will take effect when post a sale
transaction.
Category List: the program maintains a product category
list. You can do transaction report based on the
categories.
Reports: the Pocket Salewiz provides a group of report
functions for the inventory valuation reports, purchases
transaction reports and sales transaction reports.
Import/Export Data: the program use the CSV(comma
delimited) file format as standard import/export file format.
It provides a way that you can exchange the data with other
business application by providing the import/export functions
for the customer list, vendor list and product list. . You can
editing the CSV file in your spread sheet application and
import to the Pocket Salewiz at the convenience of your
personal computer. You can also save the report result to a
CSV (comma delimiled) file for the futher use.
Customers List
To use the customer window, you can use menu: Tools |
Customers | Customers List, or use the Customers List Icon.
Buttons for the Customer List:
New
Click New button to create a new customer
record.
Edit
Click Edit button to edit an existing customer. You
must select an item first to use the button.
Delete
Click Delete button to delete an existing customer
from the database. You must select an item first to use the
button.
The Customer Setup Dialog is an interface your create or
edit the customer’s data. Click OK to save the change.
Click Cancel to discard the change.
Vendors List
To use the Vendors window, you can use menu: Tools |
Vendors | Vendors List, or use the Vendors List Icon.
Buttons for the Vendors List:
New
Click New button to create a new Vendor
entry.
Edit
Click Edit button to editing an existing Vendor. You
must select an item first to use the button.
Delete
Click Delete button to delete an existing Vendor
from the database. You must select an item first to use the
button.
The Vendor Setup Dialog is an interface your create or edit
the Vendor’s data. Click OK to save the change. Click
Cancel to discard the change.
Sale Tax List
To use the tax list window, you can use menu: Tools | Lists
| Sale Tax List, or use the Sale Tax List Icon.
Buttons for the Sale Tax List:
Add
Input fields of Sale Tax and Rate, Click Add button
to create a new Sale Tax.
Update
First you must click one of the sale tax item in the list
box and modify the contents.
Click Update button to update the modification you
made for a sale tax item.
Delete
First you must click one of the sale tax item in the list
box . Click Delete button to delete an existing sale
tax from the database.
Click close window icon to close the dialog.
Category List
To use the category dialog, you can use menu: Tools | Lists
| Category List, or use the Category List Icon.
Buttons for the Category List:
Add
Input field of Category, Click Add button to create
a new Category.
Update
First you must click one of the Category items in the list
box and modify the contents.
Click Update button to update the modification you
made for a Category item.
Delete
First you must click one of the Category item in the list
box . Click Delete button to delete an existing
Category from the database.
Click close window icon to close the dialog.
Product List
To use the customer window, you can use menu: Tools |
Product List, or use the Products List Icon.
Buttons for the Products List:
New
Click New button to create a new product record. It
will post a product openning transaction in the inventory
assets account.
Edit
Click Edit button to editing an existing product
record. You must select an item first to use the button. Any
change on the On Hand value will post an adjustment
transaction in the inventory assets account.
Delete
Click Delete button to delete an existing product
from the database. You must select an item first to use the
button. It will post a product close transaction in the
inventory assets account.
The Item Setup Dialog is an interface your create or edit
the product data. Click OK to save the change. Click
Cancel to discard the change. Click New button
will create a new category, click New Tax button will
create a new Sale Tax.
Estimate, Sell and Purchase
Products
To use the esitmate dialog, you can use menu: Tools |
Customer | Estimate, or use the Estimate Icon.
To use the sell dialog, you can use menu: Tools |
Customer | Sell, or use the Sell Icon.
To use the purchase dialog, you can use menu: Tools |
Customer | Sell | Purchase , or use the vIcon.
Buttons for the Sell and Purchase Product Dialog:
New
Click New button to add a new item. It will open the
item dialog, and you can modify the sale item in the item
dialog.
Edit
Click Edit button to editing an existing sale item
from the transactoin.
Delete
Click Delete button to delete an existing sake item
from transaction.
Print
SaleWiz uses the Desktop PC's printer to print out
Invoice/Purchase Order. You must connect the Pocket PC to
Desktop PC with MS ActiveSync 3.1 or higher. The Metarim
PrinterLink must be installed on the PC.
Data Fields:
Date is the field for the transaction date.
Customer or Vendor is the field for the customer that
you sell the products to.
Inv Num is the invoice number field.
The tax total will show in Tax field and the total
dollar amont including the tax total will be in the Total
field.
The sale transaction will be post in the invetory assets
account for each individule sale item.

Print through Desktop PC's
printer
To setup, install the Metarim PrinterLink by select the
option in the installation program.
When print, connect the Pocket PC to Desktop PC with MS
ActiveSync 3.1 or higher version and be sure the PrintLink is
installed on the Desktop PC. The SaleWiz will use the PC's
default printer.
Adjust Product On Hand Value
There are two ways to adjust on hand vlaue of a product.
One is in the product setup dialog to modify the on hand
value.
Any change in the product on hand value will be post an
adjust transaction in the inventory assets account.
Import/Export Data
To import data, use menu: Tools | Import and select
individual import data file type.
To export data, use menu: Tools | Export and select
individual export data file type.
The program uses CSV (comma delimiled) file format for
import/export.
For the import, the first line in the CSV file will be
considered as field names and will not be inputed into
database. The effected import data is from the second
line.
The import file data fields.
For input Customes List, it must include the follow fields
in the CSV file.Company,
Street Address,
City,
State,
Zip Code,
Contact Name,
Phone,
Fax,
Email,
Note
It will override any existing customer record with same
Company.
For input Vendors List, it must include the follow fields
in the CSV file.
Company,
Street Address,
City,
State,
Zip Code,
Contact Name,
Phone,

Email,
Note
The Company can not be empty.
It will override any existing vendor record with same
Company.
For input Product Lists, it must include the follow fields
in the CSV file.Product Name,
Product Desc,
Category,
Sale Price,
On Hand,
Sale Tax,
Unit Cost,
Vendor,
Note
ItemType
The ItemType value can be eigher
Inventory or Service,
any unrecognized item type will be considered as
Inventory.
The Company can not be empty.The
Product name, Category can not be empty.
It will override any existing customer record with same
Product Name..
Any modification of on hand value because of the import
action will be posted an adjust on hand transation.
Reports
To use the report window, use menu: Tools | Reports.
In the report window select a report type. If applyable,
click From to select the starting date for the report,
click To to select a ending date of the report. Click
Report button to create a report. Click Save button to save
the report into a CSV (comma delimited file). The saved CSV
file can be load into spread sheet program in the PC for
further process.
Use the Calculator
The Pocket Salewiz provides a build-in calculator for the
easily input numerical data. When it associate with a special
field (if you click a fields and the calculator popup), after
your calculation, click OK, the new data will be input
into the field.
The % button In the Calculator.
The % button combine with + will calculate the percentage
result. For instance, 100 + 5 % means 100+100*5%.= 105. The %
button combines with – will calculate the percentange
decreasing result. For instance 120 – 4 % means 120 – 120*%4 =
115.2.
The % button can combine with * or /. For instance 120 * 5
% meanus 120*5%=6, 110 / 10 % means 110/%10 =1100.
